Financial Benchmarking

As part of their statutory duty, Governors are required to benchmark the financial data of the nursery school to similar nurseries in both Derbyshire and across England. Governors discuss and compare the information, and use it to plan and monitor the budget, ensuring the school continues to provide value for money while achieving the best outcomes for our pupils.

The financial benchmarking information for New Mills Nursery School can be found here.

Here you can view the school’s income, expenditure and balances as well as compare these with other maintained schools and academies. The information on this website is updated annually by the DfE using the Consistent Financial Reporting (CFR) statements that are submitted by the school to the DfE in the summer term.

Employee Salaries

All local authority-maintained schools are required to publish annually on their school website, the number of individuals (if any) who earn an annual salary of over £100k. This information is required to be published in bands of 10k. At New Mills Nursery School, none of our employees earn a gross annual salary of £100,000 or more.

Private School Fund

The school has a separate bank account to receive unofficial funds, such as money raised at fundraising events. This is known as the private school fund. It is entirely separate to the school budget. The account runs from 1 September to 31 August each year. It is audited in the Autumn term by an auditor independent of the school. In the interests of transparency, a summary of the private school fund can be made available on request.
